If you need to talk to a member of our Dispensary team they take calls during 2pm-5pm Monday to Friday. Please use either of the following ways to order your repeat items :

Please allow atleast 48working hours, this does not included weekends or bank holidays, for your requests to be processed.
If you speak to a Doctor or another healthcare professional over the telephone, please allow reasonable time for your prescription to reach it's usual collection point. If you wish to collect the prescription paper up from dispensary as a one-off, please ask the Doctor or nurse to write this on your prescription while you are on the telephone.
We are permitted to dispense drugs at the surgery to those patients who live more than one mile from the chemist as the crow flies.
How Do I....
Obtain A Repeat Prescription?
With the doctor's prior agreement, authorised repeat prescription items can be obtained from the surgery without seeing the doctor. Repeats should be ordered at the dispensary and wherever possible the tear-off order forms which are issued with each prescription should be used. Using order forms makes for a safer and more efficient system. It is vital that no mistakes are made where medicines are involved.
All the local chemists collect prescriptions daily from the surgery. If you wish to use this service please indicate your preferred chemist on your repeat order form. You can order your authorised repeat medication over the telephone or by using the repeat prescription slip which can be handed in at the dispensary hatch, your chemist or posted through the door, alternatively you can fax your order to dispensary.

I have been seen by a consultant and they want me to start some medication. What should I do next?
If you are seen in a hospital and the clinican wants you to start the medication immediately, they can write a prescription for you to collect from the hospital pharmacy. If not, they will give the patient a piece of paper to bring to the doctor. Please hand this in at the Dispensary. Usually the hospital have "allow seven days for this to be processed" printed at the bottom of these pieces of paper. The dispenser will pass this request on to the Doctor to deal with in their admin time and not immediately. This prescription will be sent to your usual prescription destination within 7days.
I want an item I have had before but it is not on my repeat list. Do I need to see a doctor?
No not necessarily, speak to a dispenser first who will advise you depending on the time period and item you are requiring. If it is something they can help you with, they will ask the Doctor in your behalf. It will be processed within 48working hours and be sent to your usual prescription collection point. If it cannot be processed you will be contacted.
There is a note on my prescription saying I need a medication review. What do I need to do?
This is a telephone appointment, so please book one with the dispensary manager. A medication review must be done on a regular basis for all repeat items even if you are seen by a specialist elsewhere. The Doctors providing your repeat items have a duty of care towards you. The dispensary manager rings patients to do the medication review and then passes on any information that needs following up, to the Doctors. The date when a repeat prescription item requires a review will be indicated on your repeat prescription paper. If you find this on your repeat list, please contact reception to arrange a telephone appointment with the dispensary manager. If you order online, you may not be able to tick the boxes of the medication you need. WE STILL ALLOW YOU TO GET YOUR MEDICATION, we never stop it. There is space in the box online, just type what you require.
We offer a dispensing review of used medicines (DRUM) for our dispensing patients. Please ask our dispensary team for details of this service
When a Doctor phones a patient and prescribes medication, unless the patient asks if they can collect their prescription paper from the dispensary, it will go to the patients usual destinated chemist. Local chemists usually collect twice a day, morning and mid afternoon. Please allow enough time for this to take place. If you are patient that does not live in town the dispensary will prepare your medication for you. Please bear in mind that sometimes items may need to be ordered.
